HAPPY HOUR AT AGRITURISMO CASETTA

Nestled in groves of olive trees overlooking the Tuscan hillside, Agriturismo Casetta is an idyllic farmhouse and working farm owned by my vivacious and beautiful friend Xenia Lemos. Xenia, and originally her uncle, have owned the property for over 50 years, and she takes us on a gorgeous tour of the property during our virtual happy hour. With its cypress tree-lined driveway, sculpture garden, glimmering pool, and sumptuously-appointed rooms, a stay at Casetta is an invitation to slow down, rest, and enjoy oneself.

Nearly 150 acres, the property is home to 1266 olive trees. Over half of the trees are over 70 years old and were planted by Xenia’s uncle. Casetta produces fantastic olive oil, and Bill and I always have it on hand at home.

Knowing how hard it is to run a farm and host guests, I asked Xenia what motivates her. I couldn’t have related to her more than when she said she has a mission of bringing friends and families together to unwind and enjoy life. Casetta gives her the opportunity to combine her love of Italy’s land and the joy of people, and she is delighted that most of her guests become friends and want to come back time and time again.
